“Every child that is born through the help of the AJFN and their supporters belong to not only us as parents but to the community.”
“Our home is now filled with the sounds of our children and each night we pinch ourselves as we put our children to sleep”.
One cannot help but be humbled and inspired when reading the words of thanks and gratitude we received last week from one of our AJFN couples who were recently blessed with a baby boy.
We have all seen the miracles that can happen when we as a community come together to support others in their struggle. Indeed there are so many wonderful charities to support, but there is nothing greater than being a significant part in the creation of new life.
Thank you for helping to bring another Jewish child into this world.
It has been a remarkable first half of 2019 with one of our highlight achievements being the hiring of AJFN’s first ever employee, our General Manager (part-time), as of January 2019. Shterny Dadon has been appointed to this role, after 12 years of being the passionate founder of the AJFN who has been running this charity entirely voluntarily. Thank you to The Giving Tree families and the Wolper Jewish Hospital Health Foundation for funding the inaugural year for this crucial role and health initiative – your generous support will enable the AJFN to reach more couples in need in a sustainable and fiscally responsible way.
Since the start of 2019..
1 Couple expecting a baby in 2019
5 miracle babies born, bringing the total number of AJFN Miracle Babies to 24!
5 skill based committees established to achieve AJFN’s goals and objectives
9 new recipients of AJFN’s emotional support programs, resulting in referrals to psychologists and to the fertility support network (peer to peer support)
12 couples currently supported – up 60% on last year
24 Synagogues participated in the Infertility Awareness Shabbat
With the EOFY approaching there is no better time to give. The costs of IVF are often staggering and unpredictable. We never know how long our assistance may be required, as IVF is not usually a one shot wonder. Resources are at a stretch and we are doing our best to keep up.
Please show couples struggling with infertility in our community that you care this tax time. With your contribution you can help support Jewish continuity and new life – ‘Chai’.
Please save the date for our major event on 4 September 2019 at the Chauvel Cinemas, Paddington. This year’s event will offer a unique and intimate insight into the world of fertility from both the male and female perspective, featuring some very special celebrity guests – stay tuned for more info.
We look forward to sharing further updates with you.
