The Australian Jewish Fertility Network is growing…and our Board is too.

AJFN: The Past
Founded in Sydney in 2006, for the last 17 years AJFN has been supporting Jewish Australians on their fertility journeys, and has grown to become an important part of the backbone of support for our community. Our mission is to ensure that no Jewish Australian feels alone as they struggle to build their family. AJFN provides support in five key ways: financial support (to those who qualify – means tested), emotional support (including trained Support Companions, access to professional counselling, meal delivery, care packs and holistic support programs), spiritual support (access to spiritual counsellors and advisors), and education and advocacy for all.
AJFN: The Present
AJFN received 146 enquiries in FY23, an increase of 243% on the previous financial year. We also distributed 58 financial grants, a 232% increase on the previous year. The growth has been profound.
AJFN: The Future
In the last few years, AJFN has seen a steep rise in inquiries for support from both the NSW and Victorian Jewish communities. We are now at the exciting point in our Strategic Plan and growth to be expanding formally into Melbourne and employing a local Support and Engagement Manager. At the same time we are looking to expand our inaugural and committed Board of Directors. The right candidate will have strong relationships within the Melbourne Jewish community and be passionate about supporting people on their fertility journey.
The AJFN Board, volunteers, and community partners are deeply committed to our Melbourne expansion this year. We are all extremely passionate about our mission and vision of No Jewish Australian Should Feel Alone On Their Fertility Journey, and we recognise the importance and need for us to expand into Victoria (and beyond!). So much so, that we are already fielding Victorian inquiries and helping Victorian families on their fertility journey.
