Professor Ledger has over 30 years of experience in fertility, obstetrics and gynaecology with specialist qualifications in reproductive medicine and infertility. Well known for his approachable and caring disposition, his drive for helping his patients to achieve the best outcome is reflected in his exceptional patient care.

He has an unrivalled depth of knowledge in fertility medicine and science, with wide-ranging research interests in all aspects of reproductive medicine and surgery. He leads the fertility research group at University of New South Wales and is the most published fertility specialist in the state. His research has made significant contributions to clinical practice and research in fertility medicine over three decades, making him one of the highest profiled specialists in the field.

Professor Ledger’s reputation as the ‘friendly face of IVF’ has been endorsed by many hundreds of grateful patients and families and he continues to bring the most modern advances in reproductive science into his clinical practice.

Professor Ledger has published over 300 peer-reviewed papers and journal articles, over 50 book chapters and joint-authored 16 books on infertility and reproductive medicine, including the 2020 Oxford Textbook of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Professor Ledger is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (London) and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He also has dual subspecialist qualification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI, Australia) and Reproductive Medicine and Surgery (UK) making him uniquely qualified to manage infertility and hormonal issues.

He also provides all aspects of LGBTI+ fertility treatment, from donor cycles (eggs, sperm and embryos) to surrogacy.
