AJFN Director, Chair - AJFN Education Committee

Cancer Genetics Clinician
MB.BS., M.Med.

Lesley was a general practitioner for 12 years before completing her Master’s degree in genetics. She joined the first Hereditary Cancer Clinic in Australia at Prince of Wales Hospital in 1997, and is now the Head of that department, providing care for families at risk of inherited cancer. Her special interest is hereditary breast and ovarian cancer in the Jewish community, and she has recently established JeneScreen, a project to enable all members of our community to undergo online testing of BRCA genes.

As a director, Lesley is honoured and excited to be one of the founding directors of the AJFN. She believes the AJFN will become an integral component of our community, as it strives to address the needs of Jewish couples facing reproductive challenges. Lesley’s work with families at risk of inherited cancer has not only led to an interest in assisted reproductive technologies, but has demonstrated the enormous value of couples being able to face those challenges with support from within our community.
